Archery Equipment

We don't recommend that novices buy their first bow too soon. Finish the beginners course, have a play with various different bow styles, and find what feels right. The earliest we recommend buying bows is around Christmas, once you've been shooting for a couple of months.

Small items like finger tabs and armguards are great early investments to make your shooting more personal and comfortable.

Tuning Your Bow

Tuning is the art of making your bow shoot optimally. From nocking points to brace height, our experienced club coaches are always on hand to help you dial in your setup.

Common Bowstyles

Olympic Recurve

The best bow style. The standard bow style. This is what you see archers shoot at the olympics.

Recurve

Barebow

Like an olympic recurve without all the fancy bits and pieces. A barebow is shot without a sight or stabilisers.

Barebow

Compound

Compound bows use a system of pulleys and cables to create high speed with less holding weight. Its has just been added as a category in the 2028 LA Olympics!

Longbow

A stick. What English archers shot for thousands of years.
